IPL 2020: KKR Released Chris Lynn So That They Could Bid For Yuvraj
KKR would show interest in having Yuvraj on board when the all-rounder undergoes the hammer on December 19 in Kolkata
The Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) on Wednesday came up with a cheeky social media post in response to Yuvraj Singh’s criticism over the release of Chris Lynn ahead of the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) season.
Lynn played a mind-blowing knock in the ongoing T10 league and registered the highest individual score in the tournament history. Following his innings, teammate Yuvraj addressed the media where he said KKR's decision to release Lynn was a ‘bad call’ and joked that he might drop the franchise's co-owner Shah Rukh Khan a message on that.
Following Yuvraj’s remarks, KKR CEO Venky Mysore took to Twitter and gave a clever reply that read, “Yuvraj Singh, we released Chris Lynn so that we could bid for you! Love and respect for both of you champions.”
Here’s the tweet:
Probably the Shah Rukh Khan owned franchise had made their intentions clear that they would show interest in having Yuvraj on board when the all-rounder undergoes the hammer on December 19 in Kolkata. On the other hand, Lynn stressed that he does not hold any hard feelings for KKR. “I have got a really good relationship with the KKR owners, support staff, head coach. There are no hard feelings there at all. More important is keeping those relationships nice and strong,” Lynn said. The 29-year-old pointed out that there are players twice as good as him who was released by IPL franchises, therefore he is not upset with KKR who he feels are desperate to win their third crown. Lynn has played 41 IPL matches for KKR in which he has scored 1280 runs at a strike rate above 140. The Australian batter will now be available for the auction for IPL 2020 scheduled to be held on December 20 in Kolkata.@YUVSTRONG12 we released @lynny50 so that we could bid for you! 😜 Love and respect for both of you champions! #IPL2020 #KKR #Legends #Sixhitters @KKRiders
