IPL 2019: Yuvraj Singh looks 'the best in blue' and he knows it — WATCH

IPL 2019: Yuvraj Singh is excited to play for the Mumbai Indians and looking forward to a vivacious season ahead

Indian veteran batsman Yuvraj Singh is all set to play for his new franchise, Mumbai Indians, in the forthcoming season of the Indian Premier League (IPL). His grand entry to the Rohit Sharma-led team has already created a buzz among the fans on social media and the left-hander himself is looking forward to a vivacious season ahead.

In a video shared by MI on their Twitter handle, Yuvraj shared his thoughts on joining this team for the first time in his IPL career.

“I wanted to be a part of a team where I’m welcomed and where I’m supported and I felt that by Mumbai Indians. Especially when I was listening to Akash’s words. So I felt welcomed and supported. I was really looking forward to that,” said delighted Yuvraj.

“I’ve been living in Mumbai since about 10 years, finally got the opportunity. Hopefully, it goes really well this year,” he added.

Here’s the video:

Yuvraj also praised Rohit Sharma as a skipper and said, “I think Rohit is a terrific captain. He is someone who keeps his nerves pretty calm. I’ve seen Rohit grow in front of me as a player as a cricketer as a human. Definitely one of the great players in One Day Cricket and a very humble human being. We share a great camaraderie and hopefully it works on the field as well.”

Yuvraj mentioned that he has played most of his cricket with Zaheer Khan and Sachi Tendulkar is hoping to contribute towards taking Mumbai to the last four and helping Rohit Sharma as much as possible.

Mumbai will be Yuvraj’s sixth IPL team. He last represented Kings XI Punjab in IPL 2018. Apart from Yuvraj, Mumbai also got a hold of Lasith Malinga, who was signed as a bowling consultant by them last season.
