India vs West Indies 1st Test Highlights: Debutant Yashasvi Jaiswal's (171 runs off 387 balls) record-shattering ton and world's number one-ranked Test bowler Ravichandran Ashwin's magic (5/60 in 1st innings, 7/71 in 2nd innings) helped Rohit Sharma-led team India crush West Indies by an innings and 141 runs to win the 1st Test inside just three days at Dominica's Windsor Park. India's convincing win in IND vs WI 1st Test give them 12 points to kickoff their World Test Championship 2023-25 campaign in style. West Indies won the toss on a pitch that offered best batting conditions but they wasted this opportunity by getting out by playing too many shots. The hosts were bowled out for a paltry 150 in their first innings.

In reply, 21-year-old Yashasvi Jaiswal (171) scored an unconquered debut ton on Day 2, and stitched a remarkable 229-run partnership with skipper Rohit Sharma (103) for 1st wicket to help India seize total control. Virat Kohli scratched around for 76. India declared their first innings at 421 for 5, with a healthy first innings lead of 271 and it was only a matter of time from there on. West Indies, in their second innings, were simply outclassed by veteran Ashwin on a deteriorating pitch as the Indian spinner took full advantage of the turn and bounce on offer to bag 7 wickets, ensuring a three-day win for the visitors.
