Background
IND vs SL 3rd ODI Highlights: Welcome to ABP Live’s coverage of the third and final ODI match between India and Sri Lanka. India had a rocky start to the ongoing IND vs SL series as it began with a tie in the first match, followed by a 32-run loss in the second game. India will aim to level the series as they face Sri Lanka in the third and final ODI at R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo today (August 7). Indian skipper Rohit Sharma and coach Gautam Gambhir would be determined to maintain India's undefeated streak against Sri Lanka in ODI cricket, a record that has stood since 1997.
India's performance has been subpar in the first two matches, particularly during the middle overs where their batting has struggled. Sri Lankan spinners Dunith Wellalage, Charith Asalanka and Jeffrey Vandersay have dominated, effectively restricting the Indian batters. With the series on the line, Rohit Sharma and his team will need to devise better strategies to counter the spin threat posed by the Island Nation.
Having fielded the same team in the first two matches, India might consider a couple of changes to bolster their middle and lower-middle order batting. Options like Rishabh Pant and Riyan Parag are available. In both games, skipper Rohit Sharma provided excellent starts with his quickfire half-centuries, but his efforts were undone in the middle overs. This recurring issue could be a concern for both the captain and coach ahead of the decisive match.

IND vs SL 3rd ODI Live Score: What Captains Said
Charith Asalanka: I am happy captain right now. The team did all things right throughout the series. We all knew they are a strong batting line up and we wanted to back our strength, spin was our strength and we backed it. They are in a good mood right now and our coach (Sanath Jayasuriya) is very active. The boys really enjoyed the team environment.
Rohit Sharma: I don't think it is a concern. But it is something we have to look at indivdually and as a gameplan. It is a joke, when you are playing for India there is never going to be complacency. When I am captain there is no chance of complacency. But you have to give credit to good cricket. Sri Lanka played better than us. We looked at the conditions and went with the combinations, there also guys who need to be looked at and hence the changes. There are lot of areas we need to look at rather than the positives. These things happen, series lost is not the end of the world, you will lose an odd series here and there but it is about how you come back after the loss.
