IND vs AUS, 1st T20I Highlights: India Beat Australia By 11 Runs In Series Opener, Take 1-0 Lead

Yuzvendra Chahal (25 runs for 3 wickets) and sensational young speedster T Natarajan (30 runs for 3 wickets) starred with the ball to help India defeat Australia by 11 runs in the series opener Manuka Oval on Friday to take 1-0 lead in the three-match T20 series.

After a fiery performance from KL Rahul (40-ball 51) and all-rounder Jadeja (23-ball 44) with the bat, concussion substitute Yuzvendra Chahal (25 runs for 3 wickets) and sensational young speedster T Natarajan (30 runs for 3 wickets) starred with the ball to help India defeat Australia by 11 runs in the series opener Manuka Oval on Friday to take 1-0 lead in the three-match T20 series.

Australia captain Aaron Finch won the toss and decided to bowl first. Batting first, India set a target of 162 runs for Australia. India's batting order failed to perform well in the second consecutive match in Canberra. Opener KL Rahul was the star performer as he scored the highest 51 runs for the team, while Ravindra Jadeja (44) showed some power-hitting in the death overs to help the team reach to a respectable score. Apart from these two, no other batsman could cause major damage to the Australian bowling.

In the absence of injured David Warner, D'Arcy Short gave the team a quick start and helped the hosts complete 50 runs inside the powerplay itself. Finch looked particularly aggressive. In the first over, he hit two fours off Deepak Chahar's over and then didn't spare Mohammad Shami as well.

Meanwhile, after Ravindra Jadeja's injury, spinner Yuzvendra Chahal, who replaced him as an injury substitute, changed the course of the match as soon as he started with his bowling attack. In his very first over, Chahal took the wicket of Finch (35). He later also cleaned up Steve Smith and Matthew Wade to dent the Aussie chase of 162.

Brief scores: India 161/7 (KL Rahul 51, Ravindra Jadeja 44*; Moises Henriques 3/22) beat Australia 150/7 in 20 overs (A Finch 35, M Henriques 30, Y Chahal 3/25, T Natarajan 3/30)
