Hyderabad:  India scored 86/1 at lunch against Bangladesh in the one-off cricket Test against Bangladesh at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium here on Thursday.

Murali Vijay (45) and Cheteshwar Pujara (39) were at the crease when umpires called the break.

For the visitors, medium pacer Taskin Ahmed took one wicket.

With India opting to bat, opener K.L.Rahul failed to give the required start needed as he departed early. He was bowled by Ahmed in the first over with just two runs on the board.

Incoming batsman Pujara and opener Vijay then forged an unbeaten 84-run partnership to steady the fort for the hosts.

Vijay's 71-ball knock was laced with six fours while Pujara slammed four boundaries.

Brief score:

India 85/1 (Murali Vijay 45 not out Cheteshwar Pujara 39 not out; Taskin Ahmed 1-17) against Bangladesh.
