India opt to bat, Rahul returns

New Delhi: India won the toss and decided to bat first against host Sri Lanka side in the second Test match at Colombo on Thursday.


Indian opener KL Rahul has been drafted back in the squad after missing the first Test with viral fever. He is all set the replace Abhinav Mukund in the starting line-up. The Karnataka batsman will partner swashbuckling left arm batsman Shikhar Dhawan at the top.


While, Sri Lanka have 3 changes to the squad with skipper Dinesh Chandimal, himself returns to the squad after recovering from pneumonia, while Malinda Pushpakumara gets his first Test cap and Dhananjaya de Silva comes in as third change. Sri Lanka suffered major blow after Asela Gunaratne was ruled out  of the entire series after suffering injury to his thumb in the first session of the first Test match in Galle.


Virat Kohli and Co. has been dominant in the first test match and will aim to seal the series to consolidate their position on the top of Test rankings.
