Harbhajan Singh Announces Retirement From All Forms Of Cricket, The Turbanator Says Goodbye

Calling curtains on a 23-year-old long career, Bhajji thanked all of those who were part of this journey.

New Delhi: Harbhajan Singh aka the Turbanator on Friday officially announced that he is hanging up his boots from every form of cricket. Making this announcement on Twitter, the off-spinner wrote: "All good things come to an end and today as I bid adieu to the game that has given me everything in life."

The 41-year-old from Punjab took 417 wickets in 103 Tests, 269 wickets in 236 ODIs, and 25 scalps in 28 T20Is in his illustrious career.

Calling curtains on a 23-year-old long career, Bhajji thanked all of those who were part of this journey. Bhajji announced his retirement via a YouTube video. 

"I have always given my 100% to any team that I have played in, be it the Indian team, Punjab team or other teams like Mumbai Indians, CSK, KKR," said Harbhajan Singh in a video. Bhajji thanked his family for all his success in cricket. An emotional Harbhajan Singh said that his sisters are the pillars in his success. 

Harbhajan also said that he too wanted to retire wearing the Indian jersey. 

"I was the first Indian bowler to take a hat-trick in 2004. I remember it very fondly," he said. Harbhajan Singh also said that the World Cup wins of 2007 and 2011 hold a very high place in his heart. 

The off-spinner is two time World Cup trophy winner with the Indian team and is known for his heroics of Eden Garden Test, the fabled Indian team defeated the mighty Australians after being asked to follow on.
