BazBall Who? India Break England's Record For Most Sixes In A Calendar Year In Kanpur Test
Not only did India score the fastest Team 50 and 100 but even broke the record for most sixes in a calendar year in Test cricket in the IND vs BAN Kanpur Test.
India have breathed life into their second Test matcha against Bangladesh in the Green Park Stadium in Kanpur. Even though Days two and three of the Test match were called off without a ball being bowled, Rohit Sharma & Co. through their blistering batting effort, which has seen them smash the fastest Team's 50 and 100, has breathed life into the match which seemed to be heading towards a draw.
Not only did Team India bowl Bangladesh out for 233 but went berserk when they came out to bat with Yashasvi Jaiswal smashing 12 runs off the first over. However, it was captain Rohit Sharma who sent a message to the dressing room smashing the first ball he faced for a six and then depositing the second ball too for a maximum. After that there seemed to be no looking back as the hosts scored quickfire runs, bringing up the 50 in 3 overs and 100 in 10.1 overs, both new records in themselves.
Meanwhile, India have also surpassed England's record for most sixes in a calendar year in Test matches with netizens upping their meme games and suggesting that BazBall, the brand of Test cricket in England under captain Ben Stokes and head coach Brendon McCullum, is overrated with India's own style making batting and boundary hitting look extremely easy. India have now score more than 89 sixes in 2024, beating the previous record set by the Three Lions in 2022.

Every time India bat aggressively, I see “Bazball who?” tweets.

Just want to say that India can obviously play aggressively, and they choose to not play it often because they have an even more versatile & aggressive bowling lineup which gives them the freedom to play in any way
