IND vs ZIM 3rd T20I HIGHLIGHTS: Shubman Gill Show Sets Up India's Commanding Win Over Zimbabwe, Visitors Take 2-1 Lead

IND vs ZIM 3rd T20I HIGHLIGHTS: India put on a clinical show in the 3rd T20I to take a 2-1 lead in the five match series and it was their captain Shubman Gill who led from the front in Harare.

IND vs ZIM 3rd T20I HIGHLIGHTS: India beat Zimbabwe by 23 runs in the 3rd T20I of the five-match series at the Harare Sports Club in Harare on Wednesday (July 10). The win has allowed the visitors to take a 2-1 lead in the series after going down 0-1 post their shock defeat at the same venue in the series opener.

India won the toss and elected to bat first. It was a fresh opening duo for India with Yashasvi Jaiswal opening the batting along with Shubman Gill. The two of them helped India off to a rollicking start before Sikandar Raza's double strike helped Zimbabwe pull things back. The Zimbabwe skipper first removed Jaiswal for 36 off 27 before getting rid of Abhishek Sharma for 10 off 9.

However, Gill then joined hands with Ruturaj Gaikwad to stitch the best partnership of the match. The two right-handers added 72 runs off 44 balls and were individually the most successful batters for Team India with the Indian captain top-scoring with 66 off 49 and Gaikwad making 49 off 28, getting out in the last over as India posted 182/4.

Indian Bowlers Led By Washington Sundar Dominate Zimbabwe

In response, Indian bowlers completely dominated Zimbabwe who lost wickets upfront. Avesh Khan got rid of first ball of his first over Wessly Madhevere before Tadiwanashe Marumani and Brian Bennett departed in quick succession, falling to Khaleel Ahmed and Avesh respectively. Washington Sundar then got rid of Sikandar Raza and Johnathan Campbell in the same over itself to break the spine of Zimbabwe batting.

Zimbabwe's Dion Myers (65* off 48) and wicketkeeper Clive Madande (37 off 26) did put on a spirited show for a while but in the end, they fell well short of their target, managing 159/6 in 20 overs. Sundar eventually finished with figures of 3/15 off his 4 overs and walked away with the Player Of The Match award.
