Prithvi Shaw became the 15th Indian batsman to score a century on Test debut

The West Indies could finally find a reason to cheer after toiling really hard as they managed to get rid of Prithvi Shaw and Cheteshwar Pujara in the second session. India were reduced to 232 for 3 by the time of tea break. Skipper Virat Kohli was at the crease, batting on 4 while his deputy Ajinkya Rahane is yet to open his account.

After resuming the innings at 133/1, Pujara and Shaw shifted the gear forced the West Indies bowlers to struggle even harder. After smashing their respective fifties in the first session, they were rooting for a bigger score.

The Caribbean cricketers finally found the breakthrough. They have ultimately broken the 206-run partnership stitched by the duo.

Soon Skipper Kohli joined the crease with Shaw and before taking the crease he congratulated the young man who did marvels on his first outing.

Shaw continued punishing the bowlers and wet beyond 130-run mark. He probably had thought of adding a decent amount of runs with Kohli for the 3rd wicket but he was removed by Devendra Bishoo a few moments ahead of the tea break.

Earlier today, India won the toss and elected to bat first. Opener KL Rahul lost his wicket on a duck. Shaw and Pujara added 133 runs to the first wicket before the lunch break.
