IND Vs SL: India & Sri Lanka Players Wear Black Armbands & Observe 2 Min Silence In Memory Of Shane Warne
A minute’s silence was observed before the start of play on Day 2 for Rodney Marsh and Shane Warne who passed away yesterday. The Indian Team will also be wearing black armbands today.
Players of both India and Sri Lanka are sporting a black armband in memory of spin legend Shane Warne during the 1st Test at Mohali. Players also observed a two-minute silence before the play resumed on Day 2 of the first Test in Shane Warne and Rodney Marsh's (who also passed away yesterday) memory.
Shane Warne passed away at the age of 52 on Friday while he was on a vacation in Thailand. His passing led to a flood of condolence messages from people in the cricketing fraternity.

"Absolutely devastated to hear the news of Shane Warne passing away. It's a huge huge loss in our cricketing world. Condolences to his family. His three children and the loved ones," said Rohit Sharma ahead of the first Test.
Even Virat Kohli paid his respects. He said, "Life is fickle and unpredictable. I stand here in disbelief and shock."

Shane Warne picked up 708 wickets in 145 Test matches that he played for Australia. He also has 293 ODI wickets against his name in 194 matches. Warne's captaincy was a prime reason for an underdog Rajasthan Royals winning the inaugural season of the Indian Premier League (IPL).
