Rohit Sharma Mocks Ben Foakes & England's 'False Catch Claim' - WATCH
On Day 2 of the 4th Test between India and England, Rohit Sharma showed displeasure with England's appeal against Yashasvi Jaiswal.
India captain Rohit Sharma expressed his frustration as England tried to claim a catch of Yashasvi Jaiswal, despite the ball clearly making contact with the grass on Day 2 of the fourth India vs England Test in Ranchi on February 24 (Saturday). The incident unfolded during the 20th over of India's innings after England's morning session dismissal for 353. Jaiswal seemed to have nicked Ollie Robinson's delivery to wicketkeeper Ben Foakes. The on-field umpires, uncertain about the clean catch, referred the decision to the third umpire.
After reviewing a couple of replays, the third umpire concluded that the ball had dropped before Ben Foakes could secure the catch. The big screen displayed a 'not out' verdict, leaving the England players surprised by the decision against them. Despite the turn of events, Rohit Sharma was caught on camera mocking the catch, wearing a wry smile on his face, pictures of which have gone viral on social media.

Nick Knight Explains The Reason Behind Rohit's Frustration
Former England batter Nick Knight, while on air, explained why the Indian captain was a bit upset with how the incident unfolded. Knight highlighted a previous catch by Rohit, where he took a similar catch of Joe Root but opted not to claim it. Instead, Rohit urged the umpire to check the replays, demonstrating uncertainty about the cleanliness of the catch.
"The reason Rohit isn't happy there is because he had a similar incident this morning. Joe Root's outside edge didn't quite carry. He said it didn't carry there and he came up with it straightaway. You could see that he is saying it's not out. Or maybe it was," Nick Knight said during commentary.
In the ongoing IND vs ENG 4th Test, India, after being dismissed for 307, trailed England by 46 runs. However, they mounted a remarkable comeback by restricting England to just 145 runs in their second innings. Now, India require 192 runs to clinch victory and establish an unassailable 3-1 lead in the five-match India vs England Test series.
