IND vs BAN 2nd Test: Day 3's Play Called Off Despite Bright Sunlight. Here's Why

After seven sessions of no play, India and Bangladesh will be ready to resume their match, with no rain forecasted for tomorrow in Kanpur (Monday, September 30).

After three inspections on Day 3 of IND vs BAN 2nd Test, umpires decided to call off play due to a wet outfield at Green Park Stadium in Kanpur. The lack of sunshine in the morning left several soggy patches on the pitch, posing safety concerns for the players. Despite the presence of bright sunlight in the afternoon, the umpires decided to not wait for any inspections further and call of the day's play.

Day 3's play of IND vs BAN 2nd Test has been called off without a single over being bowled. Notably, there has been no rain in Kanpur since Saturday evening. Despite this, the match could not take place, which is quite disappointing.

Fans are expressing their frustration on social media and questioning the facilities at Green Park Stadium. Concerns have been raised about the effectiveness of the stadium's drainage system, which led to the match being called off despite the rain having stopped for a considerable time. The second day of IND vs BAN 2nd Test faced a similar washout

After winning the toss on the first day of IND vs BAN Kanpur Test, Indian captain Rohit Sharma opted to bowl first. Bangladesh batted for 35 overs, scoring 107 runs while losing 3 wickets before rain interrupted play. Now, three days later, only those 35 overs have been bowled so far. Tomorrow on Day 4, Bangladesh will restart their innings at 107/3.

IND vs BAN 2nd Test is likely to end in a draw even if play takes place over the last two days (Day 4, 5). If that occurs, hosts India will secure a 1-0 victory in IND vs BAN two-match Test series. Bangladesh faced a disappointing 208-run defeat against India in the series opener held in Chennai.
