India Enters U19 Finals: India Defeat Australia by 96 Runs To Enter 4th Consecutive U-19 WC Final

U19 World Cup: A 204-run partnership between Dhull and Rasheed steered India's way to an easy victory in the semi-final against Australia. Now India U19 will face England U19 on Saturday.

India's dominance in the U19 World Cups continues as the Boys in Blue enter their fourth consecutive U19 World Cup Final. India defeated Australia U19 by 96 runs and secured their place in their fourth consecutive final.

India will now face England in the final who defeated Afghanistan in the other semi-final.

Yash Dhull became the only third captain (after Virat Kohli and Unmukt Chand) to score a hundred in the WC. He scored 110 in as many balls and was part of a solid 204-run partnership with Shaik Rasheed for the third wicket. Rasheed also scored 94 runs and made sure India reach a consolidating 290 runs.

Australia looked shaky right from the beginning of the chase. Ravi Kumar struck for India  in the second ove rof the match. There was a small partnership of 67 runs for the second wicket. Australia did not recover after that and kept falling behind the required rate and kept losing wickets regularly.

After winning the match, captain Yash Dhull said, "The idea was to bat steadily, not to try too many shots, and to bat past the 40th over. Myself and Rasheed bat well together, we combine well and it showed. Rasheed and me had a good partnership and we had good partnerships lower down as well." (as quoted on Cricbuzz)

It is safe to assume that India's future is in quite bright hands. In batting, as well as in bowling. Raj Bawa's big-hitting was a talking point in previous games. The Indian team also has a lot of all-rounders as well.
