Ind vs Aus: India Players Fined 20 Per Cent Of Their Match Fee For Maintaining A Slow Over-Rate 

India Tour of Australia: According to Article 2.22 of the ICC's Code of Conduct, players are fined 20 percent of their match fee for every over their side fails to bowl in the allotted time.

Apart from the loss to Australia in the first One-day International (ODI) in Sydney, team India players have been fined 20 percent match fees due to the slow over rate. ICC has shared this information with everyone via a press release. The Indian team bowled one over short of the target after time allowances were taken into consideration.

Ind vs Aus: Indian cricket team fined 20 percent of their match fee! Here's Why.

In the first ODI, the Australian team batted first and scored 374 runs for 6 wickets in 50 overs, in response to which the Indian team could only manage 308 runs for 8 wickets in 50 overs, due to which the Indian team had to lose by 66 runs. According to Article 2.22 of the ICC's Code of Conduct, players are fined 20 percent of their match fee for every over their side fails to bowl in the allotted time.
There was no need of  a formal hearing as Indian captain Virat Kohli accepted the punishment, admitting his mistake.
After winning the first ODI, the Australian team has a lead of 1–0 in the three-match series. The second ODI of the series will be played on 29 November. The second ODI is going to be very important for the Indian team. To stay alive in the series, the Indian team will have to win the second ODI against Australia.

Australian batsmen batted bang in the first ODI against India. Finch scored 114 runs and on the other hand Steve Smith scored a brilliant 105. Apart from this, Warner scored an innings of 69 runs, while at the last time, Maxwell played a key role in taking Australia's score to 374 runs by scoring 45 runs off 19 balls. For India, Hardik Pandya scored 90 and Shikhar Dhawan scored 74 runs.
The match on Saturday was also held up during Australia's innings after a couple of protesters came onto the pitch, delaying the proceedings. However, they caused a delay of only about five minutes.
