Imad Wasim Copies Messi Celebration After Fans Tease Him With 'Babar' Chants During PSL Clash- WATCH
Imad Wasim imitated Lionel Messi's celebration after fans teased him with 'Babar' chants during PSL 2024 clash
Karachi Kings all-rounder Imad Wasim put out a rather cheeky response to fans teasing him with 'Babar' chants during the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2024 encounter between Karachi Kings and Islamabad United. The incident happened at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium as Wasim responded with a gesture inspired from Lionel Messi's iconic celebration.
In what was a thrilling fixture, Kings first managed to post 150/7 in their 20 overs after being reduced to 49/4 at one stage, thanks to significant contributions from James Vince (29 off 27) and Kieron Pollard (39 off 28). In the end, however, it did not prove to be enough as Islamabad beat Karachi by 5 wickets and with 8 balls remaining.
Wasim may not have got a chance to showcase his skills with the bat but had a great outing with the ball, conceding only 18 runs of his four overs while also picking up the crucial wicket of Shoaib Malik for 1 off 6 balls. During a break in the play, however, when the crowd appeared to tease Wasim with 'Babar' chants, he took out his jersey to show his name, similar to how Messi had done with his iconic Barcelona shirt.
The video of Imad Wasim's celebration has gone viral on social media:
Hahahaha Unbelievable Clownery. Just 14 runs in whole PSL and Copy Messi and Ronaldo ko kar raha hahahaha 🤣🤣🤣 #imadwasim #BabarAzam #PSL9 #T20Cricket #viralreels pic.twitter.com/KKQO3c0gM7
