ICC Test Rankings: Virat Kohli Maintains Lead, Jasprit Bumrah Enters Top 10

Paceman Bumrah, who bagged five-for against Windies in the ongoing tour, has jumped nine places to break into the top 10 bowers list

India captain Virat Kohli maintained his six-point lead over Steve Smith, who had recently reclaimed the No.2 spot in ICC Test rankings for batsmen on the back of his twin tons at Edgbaston with a 92 at Lord's in the second Ashes Test. The bigger gainer, however, was England national hero Ben Stokes, following his remarkable knock, undoubtedly one of the best knocks in the history of Test cricket, against Australia in the Third Ashes Test at Headingley. Stokes, is now 13th among batsmen and second among all-rounders. Meanwhile, India speedster Jasprit Bumrah made an amazing debut into the top-10. Atingua hero Bumrah, who bagged five-for against Windies in the ongoing tour, has jumped nine places to break into the top 10 bowers list and is currently ranked as No. 7 for bowlers. Bumrah, the fastest Indian pacer to 50 wickets, is now seventh in the bowlers' list after a leap of nine places owing to his five-wicket haul against the West Indies. Bumrah is the first Indian bowler in Test history to take five-wicket hauls in Australia, England, South Africa and West Indies and he did it on just his first tours to this countries and he's played only 11 Tests yet. The top-ranked Kohli has 910 points while Smith, with 904, is placed second. Kane Williamson and Cheteshwar Pujara are distant third and fourth respectively. Indian Test vice-captain Ajinkya Rahane, with scores of 81 and 102 in the first Test against the West Indies, jumped 10 places to be 11th in the list.
