'I Think Everyone Supports The Decision': Former India Player States After Gill Plays In Place Of Rahul
After winning the toss, India decided to bat first. It looks like they made a blunder as they were bundled out for just for 109 runs.
Rohit Sharma’s men are battling against Australians in the third Test match at Indore on Wednesday. Ahead of the third game, the Indian team management decided to play Shubman Gill in place of out-of-form KL Rahul who scored only 38 runs in the first two Tests of the series.
Former Indian cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar backed the decision made by the Indian team management. "I was thinking whether the management will show courage and do the right thing with KL Rahul, who is a big-name player and has played some important innings in the past. I think everyone supports the decision, so well done," Manjrekar said after the toss.
"We will have a bat first. It is a pretty good dressing room and like you said the morale is high. The guys are confident about their skills which is a good thing moving forward. We have played a lot of cricket (here) but this one (surface) is slightly different. Looks little dry and you have to adapt your skills and be at it all the time. We are there yet (WTC final) and we have to come and win this game, we have to try and repeat the things we did in the first two Tests. It is important to stay present. We have made two changes - Gill comes in place of KL. We have rested Shami and Umesh comes in," Rohit said.
Veteran Indian speedster Umesh Yadav also replaced Mohammed Shami in the playing XI for the third Test. After winning the toss, India decided to bat first. It looks like they made a blunder as they were bundled out for just for 109 runs.
Australia on the other side came up with two changes as fit again Mitchell Stars and Cameroon Green are playing in place of Pat Cummins and David Warner as both the players have returned home.
