I Have Nothing To Say, BCCI Will Deal With It: Sourav Ganguly On Virat Kohli Captaincy Row
Ganguly vs Kohli: The BCCI President also said that he doesn't know if any action will be taken against Virat Kohli in the light of his latest comments.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) President, Sourav Ganguly refused to comment on whether any action would be taken against Virat Kohli for his recent comments during a press conference and said BCCI "will only deal with it".
Ganguly said, "Let's not take this further, I have nothing to say," Sourav Ganguly told ANI. When asked if there would be any action taken against Virat Kohli, Ganguly said, "I have nothing to say. It is the matter of the BCCI and they will only deal with it."
What Is The Fiasco About?
Just a day after Virat Kohli was scapped of India's ODI captaincy, BCCI President Sourav Ganguly had told ANI that he spoke to Virat Kohli to not step down as T2OI captain as the BCCI plans to have only one white-ball captain.
Virat Kohli's statements suggested the complete opposite when he said that "no communication was made" in the matter of T20I captaincy.
"It's a call that the BCCI and the selectors took together. Actually, the BCCI had requested Virat to not step down as the T20I skipper but obviously, he did not agree. And the selectors then did not feel it right to have two different captains for two white-ball formats," Ganguly had told ANI.
To which Kohli had said, "Whatever was said about the communication that happened during the decision that was made was inaccurate. I was contacted one-and-a-half hours before the selection meeting on 8th for the Test series," while replying to a query from ANI.
Kohli's fierce presser brought to fore the underlying tension in his equation with the administrators.
