Suryakumar Yadav, Indian cricket team’s captain in T20Is, turns 34 today as he celebrates his birthday on September 14. Fondly known as ‘SKY’, Yadav has built quite a reputation in international cricket in very little time that he has spent in the international circuit. One of the most feared hitters of the ball in the short format of the game, Yadav has been a force to be reckoned with in T20Is. 

Having made his international debut in 2021, Suryakumar Yadav won his first ICC world championship title with Team India in 2024, as India lifted the T20 World Cup 2024 in Barbados. Also known as Mr. 360, Yadav holds a few shares of records to his name.

Suryakumar Yadav holds the record for the most PotM awards in T20 International cricket, with 16 awards. He achieved this in just 71 matches, a record also shared by Malaysia's Virenderdeep Singh and India's Virat Kohli, but with more games played.

Most Runs by an Indian in a Calendar Year in T20Is

Suryakumar Yadav holds the record for the most runs scored by an Indian in a calendar year in T20 Internationals. In 2022, he amassed 1,164 runs at an impressive strike rate of 187.43, including nine fifties and two centuries. He is second overall, behind Pakistan's Mohammad Rizwan, who scored 1,326 runs in a calendar year.

2nd Most Centuries by an Indian Batter in T20Is

Suryakumar Yadav has the second-highest number of centuries by an Indian batter in T20 Internationals, with four centuries to his name. He trails only Rohit Sharma, who has five centuries on the list.

3rd Most Centuries in T20Is

Indian T20 captain Suryakumar Yadav ranks third for the most centuries in T20 Internationals. He has scored four centuries in 68 innings from 71 matches. Currently, only India's Rohit Sharma and Australia's Glenn Maxwell have more, with five centuries each.

Fastest Indian to 2,000 T20I Runs

Suryakumar Yadav holds the record for the fastest Indian batter to reach 2,000 runs in T20 Internationals, achieving the milestone in just 59 matches. He surpassed Virat Kohli, who reached 2,000 runs in 60 matches.
