ENG vs NED HIGHLIGHTS, World Cup 2023: England finally seemed to arrive at this tournament, long after the qualification for semis boat had sunk.

England beat Netherlands by 160 runs in match number 40 of the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup 2023. The Three Lions whose title defence had already come to an end with them having no chance of entering the knockout stage after having lost six of their first seven matches did come to the party at the Maharashtra Cricket Association (MCA) Stadium in Pune where they finally had the result going their way.

After winning the toss and electing to bat first, it looked like it would be another close game when the Dutch had the Englishmen down to 192/6 in the 36th over. However, that wasn't to be as Ben Stokes and Chris Woakes put on 129 runs for the seventh wicket in 89 balls to make sure they end up with a competitive total. Stokes slammed a hundred (108 off 84) while Woakes made 51 off 45 as England made 339/9.

In response, the Dutch, never really got going and were eventually bundled out for 179 with Moeen Ali (3/42) and Adil Rashid (3/54) being the pick of the bowlers for the Jos Buttler-led side. David Willey picked 2 for 19 off his 7 overs while Woakes picked 1 for 19 after his heroics with the bat to give England fans some respite as they still have a Champions Trophy place to play. Their win has taken them straight to the seventh position which is where they need to be to ensure they qualify for that ICC tournament scheduled to happen in 2025 in Pakistan.

The Men in Orange, meanwhile, move to the last place in the ten-team table and become the latest team to get officialy knocked out of the race to the semis. Even though they have the same number of points as Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and England, their net run rate is the worst standing at -1.635.
