Chris Gayle names the 'greatest T20 cricketer ever'

Gayle stated that while still there is a debate on who is the best player in the Test and ODI format of the game, there is no doubt as far as the shortest format of the game is concerned

Chris Gayle – the ‘Universe Boss’ has recently named the best-ever cricketer in the T20 cricket arena. Considered as one of the greatest hitters of the cricket ball, Gayle has termed himself the greatest T20 player ever.

While speaking to Delhi Times, Gayle stated that while still there is a debate on who is the best player in the Test and ODI format of the game, there is no doubt as far as the shortest format of the game is concerned. Hence, that is the reason he is called the "Universe Boss".

 "Don’t remember the things that you have done in the other two formats.’ But now that I think about it, they say Chris Gayle is the best T20 player ever. That’s what they say, right? There is no debate in T20 cricket about who is the best player. There is a debate in Test cricket and ODI cricket. That’s why I’m the Universe Boss, I’m the greatest!" Gayle said with a smile on his face.

Moreover, Gayle’s claim couldn’t be overlooked. Over 11,000 runs in the quickest format of the game at a whopping strike rate of close to 150 after playing a total of 336 T20 matches justifies that he most certainly is the greatest player in T20 format.

If compared to the other two formats, the T20 cricket has gained popularity quickly over the last few years. Thanks to players like Chris Gayle and Brendon McCullum, for they have endorsed the game in the best possible way with the bat.
