32-Year-Old Man Arrested Over Burglary At England Captain Ben Stokes’ Durham House During PAK vs ENG Tests

Ben Stokes' Durham home was burgled on October 17 during England tour of Pakistan and a man has been arrested as the investigation continues.

A Christian Dior handbag, a gold ring featuring the England cricket insignia and bracelets were amongst the items that were stolen from Ben Stokes' Durham house.

Ben Stokes’ house in Durham, England became a site of burglary on October 17 while the England men’s Test captain was in Pakistan for a three-match Test series. Durham Constabulary has now arrested a man in connection with the incident and the authorities confirmed that an investigation is underway and released a detailed statement regarding the case.

Durham Constabulary on Friday released a statement on Facebook stating that a 32-year-old man was arrested in connection to the break-in at Stokes’ house.

“A man has been arrested following a burglary at the home of an England cricketer. An investigation was launched following the break-in at Ben Stokes’ home on October 17 when high-value items were taken. A 32-year-old man from North Yorkshire was arrested overnight on suspicion of burglary. He has since been bailed whilst enquiries continue,” the Durham Constabulary posted on Facebook.

Ben Stokes had posted on X (formerly Twitter) on October 30 revealing that a masked gang had broken into his Durham home and stolen sentimental items while his wife and children were present. He also shared a photo of the stolen belongings, which included jewellery and other valuables.

In the post, Stokes described the break-in and posted images of the stolen items, which included a Christian Dior handbag, a gold ring featuring the England cricket insignia, and bracelets. 

Stokes noted in his post that the most distressing aspect of the crime was that it occurred while his wife and two children were at home. Although they were unharmed, the incident has affected their emotional and mental well-being, leaving the family thinking about how much worse it could have been.
