The BCCI on Wednesday announced India team's schedule for the upcoming home series against Australia and South Africa. India's 2022-23 home season will commence with a three-match T20I series against Australia in September. It will be followed by a three-match T20I and ODI series against South Africa.
Mohali will host the first T20I against Australia with Nagpur and Hyderabad hosting the second and third respectively.
The home series against South Africa will begin in Thiruvananthapuram. The second T20I will be played on October 2 on Gandhi Jayanti to mark the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi at Guwahati. The last T20I will be played at Indore.
The action will then shift to Lucknow on October 6, where the ODI series will get underway. Ranchi and Delhi will host the second and third ODI respectively.
Before this, India will take part in the Asia Cup T20 from August 28 in UAE. India will start their campaign against arch-rivals Pakistan.
Group A will comprise of India, Pakistan and a Qualifier (yet to be decided) while group B has Sri lanka, Bangladesh and Afghanistan.
India and Pakistan are expected to finish in top two after their league stage matches. That will give the teams another chance to lock horns at each other in the 'Super 4's' stage. The top two teams then will qualify for the final on September 11 in Dubai.
There are 13 matches in all and 10 will be held in Dubai while three matches will be held in Sharjah.
