New Delhi: Chirs Lynn’s heroics with the bat made sure Brisbane Heat went past Sydney Thunder by 3 wickets in a nail-biter in the Big Bash League match at the Sydney Showground Stadium.

Chris Lynn showed his power hitting abilities as the right-handed batsman single handedly took his side over the line with his unbeaten 85 off just 48 deliveries.

Batting first, Sydney Thunder posted 157, recovering from early jolts thanks to England ODI captain Eoin Morgan’s 52 and a late cameo by Chris Green.

In reply, Heat were in all sorts of trouble when Pat Cummins cleaned up their captain Brendon McCullum with just 6 runs on the board.

Chris Lynn held fort and continued to display en exhibition of T20 batting even as wicket tumbled at the other end. Heat were reduced to 6 for 63 at once stage when Wildermuth joined Lynn. The duo bailed their side out of trouble with a 50 run stand but the game looked to be slipping away from them.

It was the 18th over that turned the match on Heat’s favour when Lynn took 18 runs off Australia international Clint Mckay.

In the last over, thunder captain Shane Watson dropped Chris Lynn when 5 off 4 balls. The dropped proved to be costly as Brisbane Heat reached home with 2 balls to spare.

Keeping aside Lynn’s innings, the highlight of the day belonged to Pat Cummins, when he cleaned up McCullum with a beauty.
