Bangladesh vs Ireland: Tamim Iqbal & Co. Beat Tourists To Register Their First Ever 10-Wicket Win In ODIs, Clinch Series 2-0

Bangladesh vs Ireland: The hosts dominated Ireland in the both the completed matches of the series. The two sides will now square off in a three-match T20I series.

Bangladesh registered their first-ever 10-wicket win in One Day Internationals (ODIs) as they defeated Ireland by that margin in the third and the final ODI at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium, Sylhet on Thursday. With this win, they also won the series, having already won the series opener by 183 runs. The second ODI at the same venue on Monday ended without a result due to rain.

Talking about the BAN vs IRE 3rd ODI, Ireland won the toss and chose to bat first. However, they could only manage to post 101 runs with Curtis Campher top-scoring with 36 off 48 balls. Hasan Mahmud was the wrecker in chief for the home team as he scalped  his maiden five-wicket haul, returning with figures of 5 for 32.

Taskin Ahmed (3/26)  and Ebadot Hossain (2/29) were the other wicket-takers as Lorcan Tucker became the only other Irish batter to score in double digits, making 28 runs.

In response, Bangladesh got to their target with all wickets intact in just 13.1 overs, implying a victory with  221 balls remaining. Litton Das was the more aggressive batting partner and scored an unbeaten half-century, 50 off 38 balls, while captain Tamim Iqbal remained not out on 41 off 41.

Bangladesh dominated the first ODI of the series

The home team had dominated the first ODI too where they had batted first and posted a solid 338 runs with the help of half-centuries from Shakib Al Hasan (93) and Towhid Hridoy (92.) In response, the visiting team were bowled out for 155 in 30.5 overs. Ebadot Hossain had been the best performer with the bowler for Bangladesh in that match, scalping 4 wickets for 42 runs while Nasum Ahmed (3/43), Taskin Ahmed (2/15) and Shakib (1/23) shared the rest of the wickets.

The two sides will now square off in a three-match T20I series.
