Australia & England To Play One-Off Match At MCG In 2027 For Test Cricket's 150th Anniversary

Australia will host arch-rivals England at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) for a one-off Test match to celebrate the 150th anniversary of Test cricket.

Cricket Australia (CA) announced on August 18 (Sunday), that Australia and England will play a one-off Test match  in 2027 to celebrate the 150th anniversary of Test cricket, which was first played in March 1877. The two nations contested the inaugural Test match at the same venue in 1877, and since then, they have forged the most famous rivalry in the sport.

CA CEO Nick Hockley expressed excitement about hosting England for the 150th anniversary Test match at the MCG in March 2027, calling it a grand celebration of Test cricket at a premier sporting venue.
