Members of the Indian cricket team were spotted cheering for the India men’s hockey team during their high-octane clash against Pakistan at the Hangzhou Asian Games on Saturday. Players like Ruturaj Gaikwad, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Rinku Singh, and other members of the Indian team marked their presence by watching the game.
The Indian team outplayed Pakistan in a one-sided affair by 10-2. Indian players registered a massive 10 goals, securing their biggest-ever victory over their arch-rivals in a Pool A match of the Hangzhou Asian Games on Saturday. Pakistan on the other hand, scored their first goal when Sufiyan Khan spotted the target in the 38th minute of the one-sided clash. For India, apart from the skipper Harmanpreet Singh, Varun Kumar also created impact and broke the Pakistani defence to collect a goal through a deflection in the 41st minute. On the back of this win, India have entered into the semi-finals of the ongoing Asian Games 2023. The Men in Blue will now lock horns with Bangladesh in the last-four clash on Monday.
Talking about the Indian cricket team, they will start their Asian Games campaign on October 3 as the top-five ranked teams as they have been given direct entry into the quarter-finals. India's young batter Ruturaj Gaikwad will be leading the Indian side in the Asian Games while players like Rinku Singh, Yashasvi Jaiswal have found their spots in the side after giving brilliant performances in the recently passed IPL.
