Asia Cup 2018: Afghanistan announce squad, 3 uncapped players roped in
Sayed Sherzad, Munir Ahmad and Wafadar are the three players in the squad to have never played One-Day International cricket before
Sayed Sherzad, Munir Ahmad and Wafadar, made their entries in the ODI side as Afghanistan named a 17-member squad for the upcoming Asia Cup to be held in the United States of Emirates.
All the three youngsters are yet to represent their nation in the ODI format. Though 18-year-old fast bowler Wafadar and Sherzad had already featured in the historic Test against India, Ahmad is hasn’t don the national jersey yet.
However, the uncapped player has a decent track record in the domestic circuit. With an average of 49.86 in first-class matches and 48.42 in List A games, Ahmad also stands up as a back-up wicket-keeper for Mohammad Shahzad, if needed.
