4 Saal Water-Man Bana Ke Rakha: Sarfaraz Ahmed Likes Tweet Slamming Babar Azam, Screenshot Goes Viral

Sarfaraz finished the series as the highest run-getter, accumulating 335 runs at an average of 83.75 with the help of 35 boundaries, the most scored by a batter in this series.

What a comeback it was for ex-Pakistan captain Sarfaraz Ahmed in the recently concluded Test series against New Zealand. Having last played a Test match in January 2019,  Sarfaraz wasn't part of the Playing XI of the Pakistan team in any format despite being part of the squad on several occasions. He was shown the exit door after the team's failure at the 2019 ODI World Cup. But when Sarfaraz did get a chance in the Test series against the Kiwis, which one would have to call a forced change with Mohammad Rizwan not being able to replicate his limited-overs form in the longest form of the game, he made it count big time.

Sarfaraz had 4 innings in the two-match Test series and there wasn't one where he didn't score at least a half-century. While his critics might have said that it was just a matter of 1 innings had he scored only the century, he did leave any scope of criticism, slamming 3 half-centuries and topping them all with a match-saving hundred. The wicketkeeper-batter finished the series as the highest run-getter, accumulating 335 runs at an average of 83.75 with the help of 35 boundaries, the most scored by a batter in this series.

Sarfaraz failed to convert his fifty into hundred thrice in the series

Before he finally got to a hundred in what was his last chance with the bat in this series, he had failed to convert his half-century into a ton thrice, even falling prey to a contentious third umpire decision after one of his innings. However, this time around when he did reach the three figure-mark, Imam-ul Haq, captain Babar Azam and the entire support staff stood up and applauded what had been an inspiring comeback. His wife was in tears.

However, it is one off the field action of the Player of the Series Safaraz which has now made headlines. The 35-year-old liked a Tweet from a user slamming Babar Azam and later unliked it after facing criticism from netizens. However, screenshot of the tweet that he liked has now gone viral on social media.

Notably, Pakistan are already out of the race of the World Test Championship final, having failed to win even a single Test match at in 2022.
