"Time For Another Partnership": PM Modi Lauds Kaif's 'Janta Curfew' Tweet To Combat COVID19

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday came out all praises for former India cricketers Mohammad Kaif and Yuvraj Singh, lauding their efforts in urging citizens to observe his "Janta curfew" initiative to fight the coronavirus pandemic. PM Modi drew a beautiful anology by comparing the partnership stitched by the highly-famed cricketing duo on the green turf with the one they have formed to spread the government's message to contain the spread of thee Coronavirus. PM Modi on Thursday had urged citizens to follow "Janata curfew" on March 22 in the view of a novel coronavirus outbreak. After this former Indian cricketers Yuvraj Singh and Mohammad Kaif made an appeal to the people to come together to fight the coronavirus pandemic The partnership PM Modi referred to in his tweet was the one stitched by Yuvraj Singh and Mohammad Kaif from the Natwest final (2002) where India was given a stiff target of 326 to win the match. India were tottering at 146/5 when both Yuvraj and Kaif got together at the crease and produced a game changing match to turn the tables and win the finals against England at the Lord's. The duo put on a partnership of 121 runs to help India stage a major fightback. Yuvraj was dismissed for 69 runs, but Kaif batted well the tailenders to give India a win in the final over by two wickets and with three balls to spare.
