Chennai Super Kings announces official return to IPL

New Delhi: As soon as Parthiv Patel whipped the bails off to seal a record third IPL title, Mumbai Indians dug out went up in frenzy. There were limitless emotions on display as Mumbai clinched a thrilling one-run victory over Rising Pune Supergiant. Not very far from Hyderabad, there was another IPL side rejoicing in same manner. Chennai Super Kings announced that the wait was over. IPL’s most consistent franchise will return to action next season. Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals were suspended by BCCI in 2015 for two years after their involvement in fixing. Subsequently BCCI issued fresh tenders for two new franchises and Gujarat Lions and Risng Pune Supergiant replaced them. Now with the two-year ban over, CSK and Rajasthan will return to action from the next season. CSK’s official twitter handle announced that they will be back at MA Chidambaram stadium.   Despite making it to the finals of IPL 10, it will be the end of the road for Rising Pune Supergiant as they and Gujarat Lions will not be a part of next year’s IPL.
