Australian Open 2023: Aryna Sabalenka Beats Elena Rybakina To Win Maiden Single Grand Slam

After facing defeat in the opening set, Sabalenka made an epic comeback to seal a memorable 4-6, 6-3, 6-4 win against Rybakina at the Rod Laver Arena, Saturday.

Belarusian Tennis star Aryna Sabalenka defeated Wimbledon champion Elena Rybakina 4-6, 6-3, 6-4 in a fantastic final to win the Australia Open 2023 Women's Singles final - the first major title of her career. After facing defeat in the opening set, Sabalenka made an epic comeback to seal a memorable 4-6, 6-3, 6-4 win against Rybakina at the Rod Laver Arena, Saturday. The high-quality clash lasted for over two hours.

Rybakina won the first set 6-4 in just 34 minutes, after which Sabalenka made a tremendous comeback to win the second set 6-3 and the third set 6-4. This is Sabalenka's first Grand Slam title. On Sunday, 2023 Australia Open Men's singles final will be played between Serbian star Novak Djokovic and Stefanos Tsitsipas.

23-year-old Rybakina has so far won three titles, including one Grand Slam. She won her career's first Grand Slam in 2022 in the Wimbledon championship. On the other hand, 24-year-old Sabalenka won her career's first Grand Slam title, today. In singles events, she has won a total of 12 titles including the Australian Open.

Sabalenka had earlier reached the semi-finals of the US Open. The Tennis star is in great form at the moment and did not lose a set this year until today's match against Rybakina. In the Australia Open 2023 final, she lost only one set and became the champion.
