Avesh Khan Ruled Out: Avesh Khan has been ruled out of the ongoing Asia Cup due to his illness

New Delhi: India's fast bowler Avesh Khan, who was down with a fever for the match against Pakistan on Sunday, has been ruled out of the ongoing Asia Cup due to illness, said sources, as reported by news agency ANI. Avesh, was not included in the playing-11 against Pakistan and Sri Lanka in the Super-4 round. He is the second Indian player to be dropped during the Asia Cup. Before him, Ravindra Jadeja was out due to a knee injury.

"Avesh has fever and he has also got sinus-related problems which has escalated post-illness. It will not be possible for him to take further part in the tournament. Deepak Chahar is already there and he will be drafted in the main squad," a senior BCCI source told PTI on conditions of anonymity.

Avesh was able to take only one wicket for 19 runs in two overs against Pakistan. At the same time, against Hong Kong, he conceded 53 runs in four overs.

Talking about Deepak Chahar, he was seen practicing in the nets before the match in the Super-4 round against Pakistan. He shared a video. Chahar had also posted the dialogues of the famous film 3 Idiots along with the video. He wrote, "Success ke peeche mat bhaago, excellence ka peecha karo, success jhak maarke tumhare peeche ayegi."

"In any case, Deepak's comeback was a matter of time as before injury he was ahead in the pecking order compared to Avesh. Yes, it's an unfortunate circumstance that our fast bowler is out and we hope Avesh is fit before the Australia series," the source said.

Deepak, who was injured in February this year, had to stay out of many series along with IPL. Chahar made a comeback from the ODI series against Zimbabwe after being out for nearly six months.
