Army Wushu team to participate in IPL closing ceremony
New Delhi [India], May 26 (ANI): Army Wushu team, along with Gymnastic team and Kalaripayattu team of Indian Army, is all set to participate in the closing ceremony of the ongoing 11th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL), which is slated to be held at the Wankhede Stadium on May 27.
The Wushu team will also put up a show for "Fit India Campaign", which was initiated by Union Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore earlier this week, in the national capital later today.
The Wushu team of Indian Army had earlier today also engaged at a routine practice session for the IPL closing ceremony.
The closing ceremony will take place ahead of the final clash of the 2018 IPL between two-time winners Chennai Super Kings and Sunrisers Hyderabad.
It should be noted that CSK and SRH are the two teams who topped the charts even before the playoffs took off.
Mahendra Singh Dhoni-led CSK, who made a stunning comeback following their two-year suspension, are going to feature in an IPL final for the seventh time in 11 years.
SRH, on the other hand, consist of one of the strongest bowling line-ups and have already clinched the coveted trophy in 2016.
Earlier, CSK booked their place in the finals of the IPL with a two-wicket win over SRH in Qualifiers 1, while the Kane Williamson-led side defeated KKR by 14 runs in Qualifier 2 to storm into the summit showdown. (ANI)
