The Parliamentary Standing Committee on Health and Family Welfare has proposed to put a ban on the sale of single cigarette sticks in the country to reduce tobacco consumption. It has also suggested that the government should increase taxes on tobacco as well as put an end to smoking areas in airports, hotels and restaurants.
