1. Protests and violence carries on as the new Agnipath army scheme introduced by the government gave rise to anger among army aspirants. The maximum age for the Agnipath scheme has been raised from 21 to 23.
2. The Central Bureau of Investigation conducted a search at the residence of Rajasthan Cheif MInister Ashok Gehlot's brother Arasen Gehlot in connection to a fertilizer export scam.
3. Heavy rain has been lashing the northeastern states of Assam, Meghalaya and Arunachal Pradesh. The state of Assam is the worst hit with the flood situation worsening. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast good amounts of rain in the region for two more days.
4. Security forces in Jammu&Kashmir's Anantnag area killed two terrorists belonging from the Hizb-ul-Mujahideen terror outfit.

1. At the world Trade Organization meeting held from 12 to 13 June, saw Western countries like USA and some other European Nations condemning Indian government's subsidies of Rs 6000 yearly given to Indian farmers followed by subsidy on the MSP of food grains and subsidies on Electricity and urea.
2. India declined to stop the subsidies and got support from over 80 countries including China.
3. Because of subsidies given to Indian farmers, the harvest is more and food grains are sold at huge quatities and cheap rates at international market.
4. Because Indian food grains are sold at cheap rates at the international; market, Western countries cannot find buyers in the market.
5. Indian government's subsides are monetarily much lower than subsidies given by US and European governments.
