Vijay Hazare Trophy: Prithvi Shaw's Double Ton Creates Unique Record

Prithvi Shaw (227*) now holds the record of scoring highest individual score as a captain in List A cricket. Earlier this record was held by Graeme Pollock who scored 222* against Border, East London in the year 1974. (Photo: AFP) 

Prithvi Shaw made this world record by playing an unbeaten innings of 227*, with the help of 31 fours and five sixes off 152 balls, against Puducherry. At number three in this elite list is Virender Sehwag, who scored 219 runs in ODIs against West Indies in Indore. (Photo: AFP) 

This was Shaw's maiden double ton in List A cricket. The Mumbai-born has now become the eighth Indian to score a List A double ton. Prior to Shaw, Sanju Samson, Yashasvi Jaiswal and KV Kaushal are the three batsmen to score a double century in the Vijay Hazare Trophy. (Photo: AFP)
