Taylor comes out of retirement, released from Notts to play for Zimbabwe

While family is the primary cause for Taylor’s decision to return to international cricket but Zimbabwe Cricket has also made considerable changes in the way they manage cricketing affairs in the country.

Taylor has scored 5258 runs in 167 ODIs for Zimbabwe. He has also turned up for 23 Test matches.

The former Zimambwe captain had a terrific couple of seasons with the Notts but family situations prompted him to think about a return to the country.

Interestingly, Taylor had made the county-move to provide financial stability to his family. The Zimbabwe Cricket pay structure was irregular and did not provide any security to its players’ financially.

But Taylor was forced to change his decision as his wife along with their four sons were staying back in Zimbabwe and it had been increasingly difficult to stay in touch with them.

Taylor will join training camps for matches against Netherlands, Pakistan A and a two-Test series against West Indies in October.

In fact, it was Taibu, who played a crucial role in getting his former teammate back to Zimbabwe.

Taylor had announced his retirement from international cricket after 2015 World Cup in order to pursue a career in English County.

But on Thursday the wicket-keeper batsman was released from his County deal by Nottinghamshire.

Taylor is all set to make his way back to Harare after a gap of more than 2 years.
