Australia's fastest bowler mulls retirement at the age of 25

Though Cummins is yet to make an official announcement, it will surely be big blow to Australia’s chances in World T20 in their home in 2020.

Speaking about his comeback to international cricket, Cummins said he’s targeting the Pakistan series against UAE.

Cummins last played a T20 in February and with the advent of seamers like Andrew Tye and Jhye Richardson, it seems likely that he chooses to say goodbye to T20 cricket.

As of now, Cummins, who forms Australia’s pace bowling trio along with Josh Hazlewood and Mitchell Starc, is considering a break from the shortest format of the game to prolong is Test career.

They registered their first victory in the tri-series in Zimbabwe, three months after the ball-tampering saga that shook Cricket Australia but failed to win the title as Pakistan thumped them in the final.

The 25-year-old right-arm fast bowler was not available for the tri-series because of a stress injury suffered at fag end of a long and tiring season.

Pat Cummins, who represented Australia in all three formats in the last fifteen months and has bowled more overs after Kagiso Rabada in international cricket, does not see himself playing all three formats regularly.
