International Astronautical Congress 2022: At the IAC 2022, Dr S Somanath, Chairman of ISRO, highlighted the Indian space agency's plans to send astronauts into orbit. He stated that the human-rated launcher for the Gaganyaan Programme is ready.

The International Astronautical Congress (IAC), the world's premier global space event, brings global space actors together. This year, the IAC is being held in Paris. The global space event started on September 18, and will end on September 22. The space agency chiefs from the United States, India, Japan, Canada, and Europe have participated in IAC 2022, to outline their priorities and highlight past achievements. The International Astronautical Congress (IAC), the world's premier global space event, brings global space actors together. This year, the IAC is being held in Paris. The global space event started on September 18, and will end on September 22. In a video shared by the Embassy of India in Paris, Dr Somanath had said: “In India, we are witnessing the emergence of new space. The objective is to reach beyond the space community and bring together all communities to offer great opportunities for networking and forging new contacts and potential partnerships.  At the IAC 2022, Dr S Somanath, Chairman of ISRO, highlighted the Indian space agency's plans to send astronauts into orbit. He stated that the human-rated launcher for the Gaganyaan Programme is ready. However, the development of the Gaganyaan crew capsule and its escape system is proving to be more challenging, he added.
