On preparedness for cyclone 'Biporjoy' in Gujarat, NDRF DIG Mohsen Shahedi said NDRF, and SDRF teams have been deployed in Gujarat and evacuation process has been going on for two days. He said the main objective is to ensure people are safe by the time of cyclone landfall. He added many awareness programmes and announcements are being conducted.  (Source: ANI)

Parth Talsania, SDM Dwarka, said the cyclone has moved in a westward direction and is not likely to make landfall in Dwarka. According to him, around 4,500 people from coastal areas have been shifted to various shelter homes. Talsania said NDRF team Dwarka and Okha and teams of SDRF and Army team are already on standby. The Gujarat government said 17 teams of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and 12 of the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) are on standby in the districts of Devbhumi Dwarka, Rajkot, Jamnagar, Junagadh, Porbandar, Gir Somnath, Morbi and Valsad.
