Delhi Elections 2025: Alka Lamba To Challenge CM Atishi For Kalkaji Seat – Sources Reveal | ABP News
As the Delhi Assembly elections approach, likely in February, all eyes are on the political landscape of the city. In a major development, sources suggest that Alka Lamba will contest against Chief Minister Atishi from the Kalkaji seat on a Congress ticket. After discussions with Congress leadership, Lamba has agreed to enter the race, and an official announcement is expected on January 3.
Earlier, the Congress Central Election Committee had approved Lamba's candidacy for Kalkaji, but she was initially hesitant to contest. After persuasion from Rahul Gandhi and Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, Lamba agreed to run. Congress is expected to announce candidates for the remaining 23 seats in Delhi on January 3. Lamba, a former AAP MLA from Chandni Chowk, had hoped to contest from there again, but the party has decided to field Mudit Agarwal instead and has chosen to place Lamba against Atishi.
