Maruti has unveiled the Grand Vitara, its new premium compact SUV and the big news is that it will be launched with a proper hybrid as we know. Alongside a hybrid there is also a standard 1.5l petrol. The front-end has a large grille with headlamps having a unique DRL lighting signature also seen on the Baleno in a smaller way.

The Grand Vitara will be retailed via the Nexa outlets and is roughly Creta sized being above 4m in length.

The side view shows its length and also top-spec versions will get 17-inch wheels.The mileage of the hybrid version is 27.9 kmpl. A floating roof is also seen.

The rear styling is also different with the same three LED lighting signature being seen along with a chrome strip while the Grand Vitara badge is below. The Grand Vitara will get AWD with various modes with its 1.5l petrol while you can buy this spec with the manual.

The interior meanwhile gets a 9-inch touchscreen with the latest Maruti SmartPlay Pro+ infotainment system while it also gets a 360 degree view camera, connected car tech and more. There is also an automatic 6-speed gearbox with the 1.5l petrol with paddle shifters. Then the hybrid version gets a 1.5l petrol with an electric motor plus an eCVT gearbox.

The Grand Vitara also gets a panoramic sunroof which is claimed to be the biggest plus there is also a heads-up display, a digital instrument cluster and more. Production will start soon for the Grand Vitara with a launch slotted for the festive season.
