Meet Rumeysa Gelgi, World's Tallest Woman. Airline Removed 6 Seats To Accommodate Her On Her Maiden Flight
The airlines decided to remove 6 seats from its economy section and replace them with a special stretcher for her to travel on the 13-hour flight to the United States.
The world's tallest living woman, 24-year-old Rumeysa Gelgi, flew on a passenger plane in September for the first time in her life after the airlines made special arrangement to accommodate her. Gelgi, who is 7 feet, 0.7 inches tall and belongs to Turkey, was declared as the world's tallest woman by Guinness World Records last year. She also has the longest finger on a living person, the longest hands and longest back.
According to the Instagram post of Gelgi, she had to travel from Istanbul in Turkey to San Francisco in the United States, which is a 13-hour-long journey. But her height was an obstacle as more room had to be created by the Turkish Airlines that she was suppose to travel with, to accommodate her.
The airlines then decided to remove 6 seats from its economy section and replace them with a special stretcher for her to travel on the 13-hour flight to the United States.
An English translation of her Instagram post, originally posted in Turkish, read, "This was my first flight, but it certainly won't be the last. From now on, I will be very honored and happy to fly to different parts of the world with @turkishairlines. A heartfelt thank you to every single person involved in my journey."

Gelgi has Weaver syndrome, a condition associated with rapid growth, along with craniofacial, skeletal and neurological abnormalities. The condition has restricted her to a wheelchair but can walk short distances with the assistance of a walker.
Gelgi went to California enhance her career in software development and work with Guinness World Records, as per the MailOnline.
