WATCH: Australian senator who made racist comments post New Zealand terrorist attack punches teen after being egged

After one of the worst attacks on Muslims in that country where at least 49 worshippers were killed in attacks on the Al Noor Mosque in central Christchurch and the Linwood Mosque in the city's suburb, the senator took on Twitter and tweeted: "Does anyone still dispute the link between Muslim immigration and violence?"

NEW DELHI: Australian senator who sparked outrage for blaming the New Zealand mosque shootings on Muslim immigration was hit on the head with a raw egg on Saturday. The video of the incident which is now circulating on social media sites shows that the Australian senator Fraser Anning punched the teenager in the face. It is reported that the 17-year-old boy was later arrested before being released without charge pending investigation.

The right-wing extremist who filmed himself rampaging through two mosques in the quiet New Zealand city of Christchurch appeared in court on a murder charge Saturday. The former fitness instructor and self-professed fascist occasionally turned to look at media present in court during the brief hearing that was held behind closed doors for security reasons. He did not request bail and was taken into custody until his next court appearance scheduled for April 5. The suspect documented his radicalisation and two years of preparations in a lengthy, meandering and conspiracy filled far-right "manifesto". He live-streamed footage of himself going room-to-room, victim to victim, shooting the wounded from close range as they struggled to crawl away in the main Christchurch mosque. Two other people remain in custody, although their link to the attack is unknown. A third person who was earlier arrested was said to be a member of the public with a firearm who was trying to help. Two improvised explosive devices (IEDs) were found in a car and neutralised by the military, while police raided a home in Dunedin, where Ardern said the suspect was based.
