Underlining the significance of bilateral talks, he said that two nuclear armed countries should not even think of a war, not even a cold war, because it could worsen anytime.

New Delhi: Pakistan has once again accused India of being unwilling to sort out the existing differences, despite the country’s repeated efforts. Imran Khan who was elected the PM of the country relatively recently has alleged India of not responding to his peace overtures and also stressed that any war between the two nuclear-armed countries will be suicidal for them. Khan said that any cold war would not be in the interests of the two countries. Underlining the significance of bilateral talks, he said that two nuclear armed countries should not even think of a war, not even a cold war, because it could worsen anytime. While talking to Turkish news agency TRT World, Khan expressed desire of holding talks with India and said that the only way to sort the differences out is holding talks. He alleged in the interview that India did not respond to his peace overtures despite him saying repeatedly that if India takes one step towards peace, Pakistan shall take two. He said that despite several attempts by Pakistan India has always turned down the offers. He also claimed that anti-Pakistan sentiments were being aroused in India for the sake of campaigning for the forthcoming general election. India and Pakistan ties strained after the terror attacks in 2016 after which India retaliated with surgical strikes. In 2017, the ties worsened further with no bilateral talks taking place.
