A Diyarbakir resident told Reuters that she was "shaken like a cradle" and that two of her boys were still buried under the wreckage.
Another inhabitant of the Turkish city of Gaziantep, Erdem, stated, "I have never felt anything like that in the 40 years I've lived."
A "level four alarm" has been raised in Turkiye. This requires international help. Syria, which was already embroiled in an 11-year civil war, witnessed multiple structures collapse in the provinces of Hama, Aleppo, and Latakia.
