‘Outraged By The Violence, Lawlessness & Mayhem,’ Trump Condemns Supporters For Storming US Capitol Amid Ouster Demands
In his speech, the outgoing President condemned the attack on Capitol Hill and said he is now focused on ensuring a smooth, orderly and seamless transition of power.
US Capitol Violence: A day after angry protesters incited by the US President Donald Trump’s speech stormed the the Capitol Building, Trump in a new video message spoke out against the violence, calling it a “heinous attack” and conceded that Joe Biden will be the next US President. Trump also said that he is “outraged by the lawlessness and mayhem”. In his speech, the outgoing President ensured smooth transition of power. “Now the Congress has certified the results. A new administration will be inaugurated January 20. My focus now turns to ensuring a smooth, orderly and seamless transition of power,” said Trump. While stressing on law and order he said, “Like all Americans, I am outraged by the violence lawlessness & mayhem. I immediately deployed the national guard & federal law enforcement to secure the building & expel the intruders. America is & must always be a nation of law and order.”
"Serving as your president has been the honor of my lifetime," Trump said. Trump said. "And to all of my wonderful suppoerters, I know you are disappointed, but I also want you to know that our incredible journey is only just beginning.
Trump did not address his role in inciting the violence. But he told his supporters that, while he knows they are “disappointed,” he wanted them to know “our incredible journey is only just beginning.”
Meanwhile world leaders expressed their shock, “Disgraceful scenes in US Congress," tweeted Prime Minister Boris Johnson of Britain, a staunch ally of the United States over generations. “The United States stands for democracy around the world and it is now vital that there should be a peaceful and orderly transfer of power.”
